Finn Movement Sketches

i'm trying to capture movement in single quick sketches, and the little person who moves the most is Finn...so this is what i've managed so far.

Finn turns one

Finn turned one and it was a momentous occasion for him and me and his mammy Ally, and i tried to remember all of those little important moments of his first year... and i made him a card... here it is.. hope you like it

the plan is to import each pose into Blender and create a short animated sequence from eaxh of these memories. now..that's a sketchy plan... or perhaps i'll create a little 3d model and animate it, watch this space --- or the next blog post.., i love sketching.

Hi all, I've been distracted slightly by the Blender 3D World User Map (great and growing all the time) and you can find my blog of thoughts and options for the map here. I'm need programming help for the map.

but still happily sketching away and thinking great big things.

and i've found my character 'man' for brick2thick project

 I've drawn the key poses and now bringing them into blender to set the pacing of this guys actions. that's a sketchy plan for sure - updates on the brick2thick blog

BP Oil Leak Art - sketch to Blender 3D image.

I created these pieces during the massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico and South Eastern US states in 2010. I was affected by the impact it had on the wildlife - especially the pelicans.. so I started sketching...

then i started thinking about the penguins...

Chicken in Goggles & Wellington Boots by Rose (8)

Rose is 8 and my niece. She is very cool like her sister Ella (6). Well, they challenged me to a speed drawing event. Rose delivered the story, I drew the images at half speed, and then Rose and Ella coloured in the pictures the i drew.

Again, the story is by Rose (8) the colouring in in by rose (8) and Ella (6).

Ella did these drawings

Ella is 6 years old and my niece. i told her the story and she did the drawings. Then I tried to record her telling the story. We're still in the process. I think I first heard the story from on a Brendan Grace tape.

As I said the drawings and vocals are Ella (6). The rest is me and Blender3D.

Finn Line Work

ok, I've done some line work to clean up the rough sketch. I'n not entirely happy with the first letter and the spacing is off, plus little Finn looks like an old man lying on top of the two n's.

Now, I need to look at some colours. That's a sketchy plan.

inspiration from Cartoon Saloon

I bought this beautiful DVD from Cartoon Saloon called 'Brendan and the Secret of Kells', and I loved the style. So, instead of watching my little 8 month old run around, i drew him in my copy of the style of book of kells... and this is what i came up with as original sketch

I have impressed myself - i like it so i'm going to work it into a line drawing - sketchy plan.
